Enterprise IT Strategy Manager/Specialist

The IT Strategy and Portfolio Management (S&P) team is part of the IT Strategy and Transformation (IT S&T) organization. The S&P team imagines the future technology vision, strategy, and priorities to empower PepsiCo’s ambitions and optimize value.
  • The role of the Enterprise IT Strategy Manager/Specialist reports to the Enterprise IT Strategy Leader. The key responsibilities of the role include contributing to the development Enterprise IT Strategic Priorities and partnering closely with Sector S&P Leaders to develop Sector IT Strategy deliverables and processes.

What will you work on:

  • You will contribute to the development and periodic refresh of the Enterprise IT Strategy and Strategic Priorities by:
  • Gathering and incorporating internal and external inputs such as external factors such as trends and industry benchmarks, business strategy, internal IT functional inputs including CTO, Information Security, Enterprise Solutions, etc.
    • Identifying the success criteria and capturing the value of the IT Strategy and IT Strategic Priorities in qualitative terms.
    • Develop annual IT Objectives based on the IT Strategic Priorities and leveraging the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework.
    • Documenting and maintaining the set of processes and best practices for developing the Enterprise IT Strategy and Strategic Priorities
  • You will be responsible for the development and periodic refresh of the Sector IT Strategy and Strategic Priorities by Partnering with Sector IT Strategy & Portfolio Leaders in:
      • Gathering and incorporating internal and external inputs such as external factors such as trends and industry benchmarks, business strategy, internal IT functional inputs including CTO, Information Security, Enterprise Solutions, etc.
      • Identifying the success criteria and capturing the value of the Sector IT Strategy and IT Strategic Priorities in qualitative terms.
      • Develop annual Sector IT Objectives based on the Sector IT Strategic Priorities and leveraging the Objectives and Key Results (OKR) framework.
      • Documenting and maintaining the set of processes and best practices for developing the Sector IT Strategy and Strategic Priorities.
  • You will partner with the Sector S&P Leaders and contribute to the development of the Sector Capability Plan by:
    • Develop and maintain the processes and templates for S&P Sector Leads to conduct annual reviews of the Business Capability Maturity Assessments.
    • Defining Enterprise IT capability requirements that must be met to successfully deliver the Enterprise IT strategy.
    • Identifying Enterprise IT capability requirements that could enable acceleration of the strategy execution.
  • You will partner with the Sector S&P Leaders and contribute to the development of the Sector Portfolio Charters by:
    • Developing and maintaining the processes and templates for defining the Portfolio Charters in alignment with each Strategic Priority.
    • Drafting the portfolio charters defining the expected value of the portfolio in quantitative terms.
  • You will consult and influence annual IT financial and investment planning by:
    • Developing S&P processes, best practices, schedules, and templates for gathering functional strategy and bottoms-up build in partnership with S&P Sector/Global Capability Leads.
    • Support the prioritization of the portfolio by evaluating and making recommendations (influencing) of projects, products, and capabilities to prioritize to deliver the greatest value in alignment with the strategy.
Qualifications:
Who are we looking for?
  • Experience: You will have at least at least 8 years’ experience in strategy & transformation functions of companies or at least 6 years of IT strategy or corporate strategy consulting experience in a leading consulting firm.
  • Education: You will have a bachelor’s degree in IT fields such as computer science and management and information systems. You will preferably have a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
  • Strategic Outlook: You will examine issues and contribute to creation of plans with a long-term perspective. Generate ideas and contribute to critically evaluate future scenarios. Apply external and internal factors to strategy development. Consider long-term strategic impact when making decisions or setting direction. Ensure that short-term goals support long-term strategy, and that functional strategy is in alignment with overall business strategy. Detect emerging signals from external environment and synthesize these signals into actionable insights presented through thought leadership materials such as whitepapers and executive powerpoint presentations.

  • Business acumen: You will stay current on advances in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) and cohort industries as an input and identify implications for Enterprise IT Strategy. Ensure that the IT Strategy is clearly linked to the business strategy and goals.
  • Innovation: You will seek to improve organizational performance through the application of leadership thinking to existing and emerging operating models, methods, processes, products, and services. Employ sound judgment in determining how innovation, radical or incremental, will be deployed to create business value.
