Engineering Technician, Factory Firmware

Position Description
- Support engineering and manufacturing teams with factory/vehicle integration processes and tasks.
- Investigate vehicle test failures and work on improvements.
- Help to validate new equipment, parts and processes before and during introduction to the manufacturing line.
- Support trials for changes to vehicle self-tests and new factory firmware releases.
- Assist other teams with vehicle diagnostics and support for component replacements as needed.
- Manage workload with a positive attitude as a team player in a collaborative work environment. We are looking for 2 technicians willing to work 6:00 PM-6:00 AM Monday-Friday.
Responsibilities
- Investigate and implement countermeasures to improve line processes and first pass yield of testing.
- Support escalations, diagnose and resolve firmware and testing issues (throughout the value stream including end-of-line repair).
- Documenting basic troubleshooting steps and training how to fix first level issues at module firmware download stations; this may include updating the stations with the latest firmware releases.
- Work with firmware engineers to initiate trials & document any firmware release and self-test configurations.
- Must be flexible to support both day, swing and alternative work schedules (weekends and holiday may be required).
- Manage troubleshooting and repairs exactly to instructed processes.
- Manage small projects involving multiple departments and/or outside contractors.

Requirements
- Ability to manage workload while contributing to a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Ability to communicate clear information and pass downs or directions to the team, internal or external.
- 3-5 yrs. experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment or related technical experience.
- Experienced with the use of a variety of hand, electrical, and portable tools.
- Detail oriented with strong record-keeping and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while multitasking.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and an overall high level of computer literacy.
- Able to read and interpret automotive electrical schematics.
- Ability to carry a positive attitude while providing unlimited support to the team.
- Availability for occasional off-hour calls.
- Associate degree in electronics, technical certificate from a trade school or equivalent experience highly preferred
- Skilled at troubleshooting low/high voltage automotive electrical systems highly preferred
- Experienced with diagnosing and root causing automotive electrical systems highly preferred
- Ability to capture vehicle CAN traces and analyze log data to diagnose issues desired
- Experience with CAN diagnostic tools such as PCAN Explorer and Vector CANape desired.
- Experience with Bash and Linux file structure desired
- Experienced with coding and developmental tools such as Python, Git, Splunk and other virtual tools desired
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $26.64 - $39.96 per hour
