Their Engineering Manager is responsible for leading, managing and developing a team of engineers in the fort to design, develop and manufacture complex test equipment. This individual will lead an engineering team in technical innovation, product and process improvement and project execution. Requirements of this position include knowledge and experience in electro-mechanical and fluid system design, ability to build and lead a team consisting of multidisciplinary engineers, designers and technicians, ability to influence members at all levels within the company, strong financial acumen and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
Essential Functions:
- Act as the primary point of contact for Engineering, delivering value by shaping and informing the product strategy, defining capabilities required to achieve the strategy and bringing forth recommended engineering solutions to enable these capabilities.
- Drive an Agile mindset and delivery culture throughout the engineering function, advocating speed and agility and act as a change agent within the function for Agile adoption.
- Work collaboratively across the organization to ensure all design needs are identified in a timely way and communicated, planned and budgeted effectively. Must effectively communicate and collaborate with sales, materials and manufacturing teams.
- Build a team that promotes a positive development culture including: innovation, continuous improvement, professional growth, teamwork, design excellence and ownership.
- Lead a team accountable for providing the ultimate customer experience: exceeding customer expectations and providing the highest levels of quality and service.
Qualifications Required:
- Excellent leadership skills and demonstrated experience with building and developing highly effective teams
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to influence and provide engineering thought leadership to the organization
- Highly collaborative relationship building skills with various internal and external stakeholders
- Must demonstrate a high sense of urgency to influence changes and drive outcomes from conception to delivery
- Effective communicator with excellent executive presence to swiftly align and mobilize teams by setting a common goal
- Ability to partner directly with HR to attract and retain top talent
- Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes and strategies planning on track
- Strong technical background to effectively communicate specific task requirements to individuals and to adequately understand the technical output to challenge the results
- Incredible problem solving skills
Experience / Education Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business Administration preferred) with 7 years of engineering experience i a leadership role
- Experience must include developing, deploying and managing engineering processes, applications and oversight
- Familiarity / expertise in LEAN, Agile and Scrum methodologies
- Strong foundation in PC skills, ERP, MS Office, Microsoft Project, Solidworks a plus
- Experience in capital equipment engineering
- Proven track record in leading custom and/or new product engineering projects
- Experience in the design of mechanical systems, hydraulics and pneumatics, process control, electrical systems and instrumentation
- Practical knowledge of design for manufacturability and value engineering
- Familiar with aircraft component operation, testing and test system design preferred
- Proven oral and written communication skills to clearly and concisely present information, gain buy in and earn commitment to actionable business strategies
- Excellent problem solving skills, attention to detail and critical thinking abilities
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $110,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
