NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs


If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.

If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Salary Range


$75,900 - $125,400

  • Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.

What Your Job Will Be Like


We are seeking a motivated Engineering and Systems Integration Implementation Professional. In this position you will be involved in coordinating with internal and external partners, while delivering on project needs.

On any given day, you may be called on to:

  • Provide technical and program specific support to one or more aspects of several CGSC programs which could include sectoral sanction's enforcement, supply chain due diligence measures, and nuclear nonproliferation and WMD issues.
  • Coordinate project teams in planning, tracking, and execution of project plans associated with completion of alignment to various programmatic requirements.
  • Manage project resources to ensure that products and objectives are met according to the project management plan.
  • Develop and deliver proposals, progress reports, requirements documentation, and presentations based on program needs.
  • Apply strong communication skills, provide programmatic updates to both internal and external partners in a diverse setting.
  • Assist teams in supply chain logistics and sourcing materials.
  • Work as liaison between departments, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Arrange action items and prepare resources to implement schedule needs.
  • Integrate with teams and help identify inefficiencies.

Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.

Qualifications We Require

  • Advanced degree in International Affairs, Political Science, or other relevant technical fields.
  • Experience with the following:
    • Working with technical engineering teams to meet project benchmarks (e.g. support of configuration management, requirements management, quality management, supply chain management, project management, and/or product lifecycle management)
    • Working in/with international multilateral organizations and partners.
    • Writing curriculums, producing creative tabletop exercises, and conducting workshops in an international environment.
    • International affairs and/or security studies, preferably with a specific focus on nonproliferation issues and emerging security threats.
    • Cultivate new contacts and preserve or improve existing relationships with customers, partners, or the technical community.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Q level security clearance.

  • Ability to work effectively independently, and in team situations in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Proven track-record of independently developing solutions to issues of moderate to high complexity and impact and providing expert analysis of situations to make recommendations to management on changes to policies, processes, or methods.
  • Experience in Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Adobe, Sharepoint, Storyline.
  • Active DOE or DOD security clearance.

Security Clearance

Position Information


This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
