PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Process Engineer is responsible for performing diverse engineering analysis, managing engineering projects and implementing process changes for operations. This includes machine capability evaluations, modifications of equipment and developing solutions to production issues relating to materials, processes, and procedures to maximize efficiency and yields. Responsible for Capital Project management including equipment evaluation, justifications, project accounting management, start-up and validation of the operation. All annual reporting and leads EPA compliance programs are coordinated through this individual.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
- Responsible for the maintenance and updating of all process control network systems.
- Provides technical guidance to help support production throughput, efficiency, cost reduction and safety improvements
- Assists with scheduling, preparation, installation, service parts inventory and maintenance of technical equipment beyond the scope of ordinary maintenance team members
- Assists with the development of controls systems and procedures
- Provides technical support to existing equipment
- Assists with the collection and storage of all control parameter settings for plant equipment
- Assists with the development of upgrade plans for obsolescent equipment controls
- Improves existing control packages to become more reliable and production/maintenance friendly
- Performs routine and specialized duties in the repair and maintenance of instruments and controls
- Works as part of a team to plan, analyze and control the quality of processes.
- Inspects, repairs, and adjusts Programmable Logic Controls (PLC), and Human Machine Interfaces (HMI), and related equipment using electrical test equipment, circuit diagrams, schematics, and blueprints.
- Troubleshoots hardware and software issues
- Assist with the maintenance of Electrical diagrams and any other documentation for all production equipment
- Has the ability to communicate welt with members of the maintenance and engineering team
- Reviews daily shift Maintenance work logs for issues and suggest and implements countermeasures
- Maintenance support for daily production activities.
- Ability to perform electrical installations and repair using 24V to 480V 3ph
- Multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Performs any other duties as required by Management
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of three (3) years of maintenance experience in industrial
- Strong PLC skills with expertise in system administrative and maintenance activities, and hardware and software troubleshooting. (Allen Bradley/Rockwell)
- Experience programming in ladder diagram. (Function block diagram, structured text, instruction list and/or sequential function chart a plus.)
- An Associate's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or Technology or related military service training programs strongly preferred. Additional professional training a plus.
- Additional experience with machinery repair and control systems.
