What you will do:
Our Electrical Contract Engineer will process engineering bills of materials and drawings to provide a clear-to-build production release for a large commercial air handling product. This may include Computer Room Air Handlers. Additional responsibilities include performing some engineering support activities that may require some hands-on construction and testing for the development of new or modified components or products. Resolves electrical device problems in a production environment to ensure that issues are resolved efficiently. Support of software teams.
How you will do it:
Provide technical support to and communication among the Engineering and Production teams to assist in efficient execution of building air handling units which includes Variable Speed Drives and other types of electrical and control assemblies
Support application and sales teams by providing guidance and driving special requests
Prepare non-standard sketches and drawings and prepare design documents
Review and mark drawings to support drafting and design
Perform simple routine system and component calculations, selections, and write specifications
Support the factory by coordinating and completing the programming of controllers
Solves nonconforming systems and components for manufacturing, service, test lab, etc and make recommendations
Perform tests and suggest test procedures
Provide technical guidance and assistance to electricians and mechanics as vital to complete and coordinate activities
Provide and exchange technical information to vendors, customers, and inspectors for assigned products and components
Follow codes and procedures related to job
Provide limited training to others in areas of technical and practical knowledge
Follow, and participate in creation of standard procedures, test Standards, test procedures, and processes
Ability to travel up to 10%
What we look for:
Required:
BS degree in engineering (EE, EET preferred)
Experience and knowledge of HVAC fundamentals is beneficial
Knowledge of three phase power and HVAC controls
Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, and PowerPoint), as well as Internet software
CAD experience to produce 2/3D drawings (AutoCad / Inventor)
Adept at working in environments ranging from laboratory to manufacturing/testing facilities to field sites
Interact efficiently and cooperatively within technical role with engineers and technicians
Capable of working in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment
Possess the willingness and ability to quickly learn new concepts/technologies on typically steep learning curves

These roles have included application engineering, product management, software management, pricing management, and contract engineering. The team is critical to the success of our Semi-Custom air handing units built at our Airside Center of Excellence (ACE) located in York, PA. Our responsibilities provide opportunities to work closely with our application engineering, product management, design engineering, and manufacturing teams to ensure our products can be successfully built while meeting our customer’s expectations.
