Duties for This Position

The Endoscopy Technician serves as a member of the surgical team by assisting physician and nurses during exams and/or procedures. Prepares suites or rooms according to procedure requirements. Cleans, sterilizes, and calibrates scopes or other endoscopic instruments according to hospital standards. Performs safety checks to verify equipment functions properly. Assists with proper charting and ensures accurate records are kept during each procedure. Persistently adheres to all infection control measures throughout procedure.

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED

Certification as a Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) preferred

Experience

No experience required

Required Skills

Must be flexible in a demanding environment. Ability to listen to instruction and assimilate direction quickly. Must be able to prioritize and use good judgment while remaining calm during times of crisis. Strong organizational skills are required and the ability to coordinate a variety of pressing issues with frequent interruptions. Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time and to communicate clearly.
