Job Summary: Under general direction, performs work of considerable difficulty in the conduct, coordination and maintenance of the various stages of the emergency management and fire safety programs. Assists with other EOC programs throughout CaroMont Health. The position will be responsible for performing a wide variety of emergency management, preparedness, response, and training activities including the design and conduct of emergency management training and exercises, including the First Receiver Decontamination Program. Design training materials in emergency management, patient decontamination, and fire response training. Conducts comprehensive plan reviews, life safety inspections, completes reports, and conducts fire drills system wide for on and off-site clinical and business department locations as required. Partners with multiple departments such as Emergency Services, Security, Facility Services, and other clinical departments on a regular basis. Provide technical advisement and assistance to remedy non-compliance issues concerning federal, state, and local codes and regulations. Assist in the development of procedural guidelines, bulletins, various reports and related materials. Attends and participates in local and regional meetings as required and directed. Participates in training sessions to maintain professional development. This is a professional position with emphasis on the ability to work well with all levels of staff and the public. An employee in this position works responsibly and independently carrying out projects of varying difficulty and complexity, in addition to working as a member of a team on large and complex projects as assigned. Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Associate’s Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Three to five years of experience in emergency management (county/city/local or health care related), emergency response and training, a safety related field, or equivalent experience in the area of health care support services. Working knowledge and experience with The Joint Commission Standards of Accreditation, CMS Conditions of Participation and Emergency Preparedness Rule, NFPA 1600 Standard on Continuity, Crisis, and Emergency Management, and an understanding of NFPA Standards interpretation and OSHA regulations.
