JOB TITLE & Employer Name: Electrical Engineer for Eastman Chemical Company
LOCATION: Springfield, MA
JOB DUTIES: Design, specify, install and troubleshoot industrial electrical, power distribution, and instrumentation control systems. Provide high-quality design, scope, and cost/schedule estimates including P&IDs, and equipment drawings and specifications. Support and maintain control systems including PLC and Delta V DCS. Provide electrical and instrumentation engineering and technical support to plant operations, maintenance, and projects ex: BLEVE Protection power monitoring devices, SIS Interlock Burst Panel indicators, Rotary paddle fail safe high level monitoring and utilize Siemens PLC configuration updates etc. Directs E&I calibration procedures of critical equipment. Evaluates the adequacy of critical E&I equipment spare parts inventories. Provide input to Reliability Engineers in development of Predictive and Preventive Maintenance Procedures. Conducts root cause failure analysis on major equipment failure, and recommend equipment improvements, equipment upgrades, instrumentation replacement and/or programming modifications or changes. Liaison with equipment suppliers pertaining to any E&I issues.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and three (3) years post bachelor’s progressive experience. Alternate requirement: Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and one (1) year post bachelors experience. Experience must include all of the following:
Power distribution systems, feeders, and grounding. Testing and calibration of Control systems, pressure, flow, and temperature devices. Problem solving and decision-making skills including Electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Experience with Electrical hazardous area classification. Preventive and predictive maintenance system, using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems). Power generation and automatic transfer switches controller programming, including troubleshooting various generators and UPS (uninterruptible power supply) systems. Programming and Calibration of control systems through OEM applications, Sitetech and Polarpower.
