Olmsted Falls City Schools is announcing a search for a newly created stipend position- EL Parent Mentor. The position is open to those who can successfully serve as a liaison between the schools and our families with a language barrier.

Stipend Amount: $700 for remainder of 2022-2023 school year, 13 weeks of service or prorated based on availability.

The mentor would facilitate communication between home and school for all families with a
language barrier. This position will provide support to teachers and staff by facilitating
conversations using a variety of methods. It will develop and foster relationships between
teachers and families in order to connect, grow, and learn.

? Provide a diverse community of support for our students

Mentor Responsibilities:
? 3 hours per week when school is in session.
? Make contact with new families within the community after enrollment.
? Connect families with resources within the school district and community.
? Establish effective communication between home and school.
? Be able to utilize translation services in order to communicate with families and respond
within 24 hours.
? Educate teachers and staff about cultural differences
? Collaborate with English Language Teacher weekly
