Plant EHS Manager

Henderson, NC

Position Description:

The Plant EHS Manager is responsible for the overall location EHS management system. The Plant EHS manager will develop and execute the site EHS strategy with the corporate EHS strategy. This person will lead the implementation of processes, systems, and programs to ensure compliance and lead continuous improvement projects that will steadily improve EHS performance.

Essential Duties:

• Leads and Drives implementation of corporate EHS systems and standards at a location(s) that may vary in size and complexity.
• Leads and drives EHS values-based safety culture by working with, coaching, and mentoring the plant management.
• Manages all applicable environmental programs (air, water, waste, etc.) and permits.
• Directs and implements corporate EHS standards (lockout, mobile equipment, electrical fall prevention, etc.)
• Develops and leads EHS strategy for the location in conjunction with the corporate strategy.
• Manages the location fatality and serious injury prevention program and develops action plans to eliminate risks.
• Leads the development and conducts EHS training plan to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Lead, coach, and mentor location management with incident investigations root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Actively coaches and supports plant leadership in executing their EHS roles and responsibilities

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in EHS or a closely related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an EHS discipline required if no Degree
• Expert knowledge of state, local, and government EHS-related requirements
• Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
