JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State Abington Continuing Education Department is seeking a full-time Education Program Coordinator to support its mission, vision, and strategies. The successful candidate would be responsible for budget, payroll, and part-time employee hiring management, day-to-day operations of the department, and education program support .
This position offers a flexible work arrangement that combines remote and on-campus work. Questions related to flexible work should be directed to the hiring manager during the interview process.
Job Responsibilities:
Assist in coordinating budget preparation, monitor budgets, and budget projections, analyze data, initiate payments, and process payroll
Coordinate the recruitment and hiring of part-time instructors and teaching assistants
Manage day-to-day operational activities for the department including support of the Director
Complete the required documentation necessary to support registrations, payments, cancellations, contract requirements, and continuing education credits
Provide routine program logistics/maintain requirements or activities to ensure the quality of programs
Plan and coordinate marketing for educational programs and services
Update web pages with minor changes
Assist in facilitating in-person and virtual training, programs, courses, etc. as needed
Make recommendations on changes/additions to both policies and portfolio of offerings based on student feedback, evaluations, historical data, and systems capabilities
Participate on campus committees, at community events, meetings, and affiliated activities as needed
Create reports and program documentation; oversee records retention
May represent the unit at internal and external meetings with stakeholders
May require some evening work and local travel to support courses and events
Education:
Associate’s degree or higher
P lus 2 years o f related experience
O r an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred qualifications:
Experience with administrative and/or program support
Strong communication, organizational, and computer skills
Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously with strong attention to detail and adapt to shifting priorities
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively on tasks
Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging
