Schedule: Tuesday to Saturday 8am- 4pm
Salary: $16.56 per hour -$17.36 per hour

We are currently looking for Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)to support our Developmentally Disabled Division located throughout the 5 boroughs. We currently are recruiting for Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem shifts. We have 3 shifts throughout our residences, morning, evening and overnight. Below, you will see the most common schedules for those 3 shifts.
Mornings: 7am-3pm
Evenings: 3pm-11pm
Overnights: 11pm-7am
Job Responsibilities:
Staff will have daily contact with Residence Manager and individuals. Residence Manager will provide supervision and individuals will receive care and supervision. Regular contact will occur with service providers in the community, as well as, school, day program and transportation staff.
- Ensure appropriate supervision, health and safety of individuals; Implement Individual Plan of Protective Oversight.
- Advocate for individuals in the community (medical appointments, church, recreation activities etc).
- Ensure individual’s plan of care is implemented.
- Ensure that individual medication is administered as prescribed.
- Assist in daily living skills (e.g. personal hygiene, food preparation, housekeeping, laundry, shopping)
- Maintain facility in compliance with the OPWDD and COA standards.
- Facilitate individual’s learning and skill training in fire safety.
- Complete daily progress notes and other individual logs.
- Maintain updated certifications in CPR/first aid, SCIP, and AMAP.
- Provide atmosphere conducive to positive behavior.
- Observe, report regressive and unusual behavior and work cooperatively with clinical staff.
- Planning and preparing balanced meals.
- Cleaning and maintaining of the residential unit.
- Assist individuals with the purchase of groceries, clothing, hygiene supplies and other items needed.
- Transport and escort individuals on recreational activities, medical appointment, home visits, etc.
- Remain on shift until your relief has arrived.
- Complete job related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
- HS Diploma/GED.
- Valid NY, NJ, CT, or PA, State Driver’s License for 6 months required with 6 points or less. Experience working with adults that have developmental disabilities.
- AMAP, SCIP, CPR, and First Aid Certifications preferred. Save Changes
