Position Description
Support food program by organizing, storing, prepping, and transporting food to offsite locations while also using proper food safety measures. May also be asked to assist with Food Pantry deliveries and donation pick-ups.
Responsibilities/Duties
- Follow all food safety procedures for heating, cooling, serving, and transporting food.
- Willingness to learn special food safety preparation and delivery of senior Meals on Wheels.
- Obey all state and local traffic and motor vehicle laws and adhere to all GCC van user rules.
- Report any accident immediately to your supervisor; complete the required report from glove box and GCC Incident report.
- Report any mechanical problems or safety hazards immediately to your supervisor and the maintenance manager.
- Report any moving violations immediately to the Human Resources Director.
- Be willing to participate and help kitchen staff in all department-based tasks when not on delivery.
Requirements:
Qualifications
- At least two years of licensed driving experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Ability to pass criminal background check
- Meet physical requirements of getting in and out of van and sitting for up to 1 hour
- Ability to lift, up to 50lbs, regularly
- Either have or be willing to use a smart phone navigation system
Preferences
- Experience in basic food prep & service or the willingness to learn
