Job purpose:

The Document Control and Training Specialist is vital to the success of our organization by ensuring strict adherence to our Document Control procedures. The primary role of this position is to perform quality tests and procedural review as outlined in the food safety program.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Direct our internal employee training program:Lead in-person training that focuses on food safety, plant safety, and GMPs.

Plan annual refresher training opportunities to ensure ongoing compliance.
Recordkeeping; prepare dated and signed training records for applicable employee files.

  • Consistently review and confirm that all required documentation and associated data for the production facility is accurate, signed by appropriate sponsors/stakeholders, and routinely backed up.
  • Uphold all applicable SQF and FSMA standards.
  • Archive inactive records in accordance with the records retention schedule.
  • Perform tests and review documents to determine approval for incoming ingredients and materials.
  • Conduct quality audits to ensure compliance of all standard operating procedures.
  • Ensure finished products, raw ingredients, and materials are placed on hold if they do not meet our quality and food safety standards.Consistently review documents related to the hold program.
  • Perform analytical instrument calibrations and maintenance, report and correct any deficiencies.
  • Assist with development of SOPs to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Three to five years’ applicable work experience preferred.

SQF Practitioner

PCQI Certified

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all departments.

Excellent computer skills, proficient in all Microsoft applications.

Hands-on experience with ERP systems.

Ability to work in a team environment.

Weekend availability and ability to work overtime as needed.

Working conditions:

Position works in all areas of facilities, including tight spaces and a loud manufacturing environment.

Physical requirements:

Ability to lift and twist up to 50 pounds several times throughout the shift.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
