$1000 for all fulltime positions with 1235+ annual hours

Easterseals of Southeastern Pennsylvania, a community-based non-profit organization, is seeking a Division Director for its Philadelphia County PA location. This exempt, fulltime, twelve-month position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Easterseals program in multiple sites in Philadelphia County including but not limited to the supervision of key staff, budgeting, staff utilization, facility management and student bus transportation.

For over 100 years Easterseals has been helping people with disabilities gain greater independence. Our mission is to provide exceptional services to ensure that all people with disabilities or special needs and their families have equal opportunities to live, learn, work and play in their communities. Easterseals of Southeastern PA services include approved private school, special classrooms, summer programs, assistive technology, early intervention programs and various outpatient speech, physical and occupational therapy programs. Children who receive these services are challenged with a variety of disabilities including autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome, spina bifida and physical and developmental delays. This mission-driven organization has over 300 employees in multiple locations in southeastern Pennsylvania.

Scope:

The Philadelphia Division is one of the largest and one of the more complex enterprises in the Easterseals of Southeastern PA umbrella. The annual budget for the Philadelphia Division, as approved by the Board of Directors, has budgeted revenue of over $6M. The Division now has 100+ employees employed on a regular basis in the Early Intervention and Yaffe Centers, working in center-based and community-based positions. These include Administrative Staff; Teachers; Teacher Assistants; Feeding Assistants; Nurses; Occupational Therapists; Physical Therapists; Speech Therapists; Therapy Aide; Social Worker; Bus Drivers; Bus Attendants and Maintenance Person. The Division also utilizes temporary Staff for periods during the course of the school year.

The Division serves 600 children. The major programs managed by this Division include the Approved Private School, Early Intervention Program, Charter School Services, Transportation Services and an Extended School Year program.

Reporting to the Director of Programs, the Division Director is a member of the Senior Management team inclusive of corporate leadership and all Division Directors.

The following staff members are direct reports to the Division Director:

Program Director in Early Intervention Center

Program Director in Yaffe Center

Division Administrative Assistant

Transportation Coordinator

Maintenance Staff Member in Yaffe Center

The Division Director holds ultimate accountability to assure that program standards and operating procedures are followed in their assigned site locations. The Director works with appropriate personnel to achieve staff and division utilization objectives and maximum use of staff. The Director works to achieve assigned or approved program development objectives.

Management and supervision duties include the supervision of all staff members directly responsible to the Division Director and to assure appropriate supervision for staff who report to subordinates. This includes the ability to be approachable and available for escalation of issues as needed. The Director will evaluate and review the job performances of all staff assigned to the Division under the Division Director's supervision.

The Director will work closely with the Director of Human Resources on the selection and hiring of all staff in the Division and act as the content expert pertaining to the staffing needs of the Division. The Director will communicate with the appropriate staff pre-hire pertaining to the licenses and credentials needed for credentialed staff.

The Director will work to foster a professional presence and credibility and work to lead all staff members within assigned sites to continually demonstrate a positive attitude towards Easterseals as an organization, its mission and to perform the work at a maximum level of efficiency and quality.

The Director will work to accomplish annual accountabilities with favorable effect on the performance of others in the organization. The Director will schedule staff and Supervisor meetings as needed to assure the timely dissemination of information to all division staff and work to plan and schedule the annual school calendar.

With regard to Fiscal Management, the Director will provide a budget and cash flow for each fiscal year according to established deadlines and will participate in internal audit process to assure accuracy of data collection and cost allocations. The Director will play the main role in the Division for monitoring and managing expenditures, to ensure compliance with the approved budget, and will provide a creative outlook on revenue generation pertaining to program management. The Director will also approve and submit to appropriate accounting personnel all bills and all requests for purchase in a timely fashion with proper documentation.

Pertaining to Contract Management, the Division Director will provide information requested in response to bids for service delivery and will actively participate in contract negotiations. The Director will also monitor current contracts and assure that service agreements are met and will respond to requests for information regarding status of service delivery, e.g. monthly update reports.

Qualifications:

The Division Director must possess a Bachelor’s degree in related area, and a minimum of five years of proven and effective leadership in the following areas: program oversight, management and supervision, budget and fiscal management, and contract stewardship; and the ability to analyze data to assist with monitoring service delivery.

The qualified candidate will possess the ability to work sometimes flexible and demanding hours and the ability to travel throughout the territory served by the agency including occasional meetings with contract providers acting as the Easterseals representative.

This Director role requires the ability to work effectively under pressure as well as to work cooperatively with other staff members and volunteers and provide motivational leadership for their team.
