Dispatch Supervisor A career as a Dispatch Supervisor can be rewarding in many ways. As a Dispatch Supervisor, you’ll need to be able to think on your feet and make quick decisions. You will also need to be able to stay calm under pressure and keep things organized. It is important to be able to communicate clearly and effectively both over the phone, by email and in person. The Benrich Service dispatch team is responsible for the taking of, dispatching, and coordinating our clients’ daily service calls in the water heating, plumbing and HVAC industry. We are looking for an experienced and level-headed supervisor to lead our team of dispatchers. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to think quickly and make decisions under pressure. He or she will be responsible for managing the dispatch team, coordinating schedules, and ensuring that all service calls and proposal jobs are properly handled. The Dispatch Supervisor will also be responsible for their assigned service area. In addition, coordinating and overseeing all preventative maintenance contracted services for our boiler clients.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure that all assigned dispatchers are properly trained and equipped to perform their duties.
- Schedule and assign work tasks to ensure adequate coverage while maximizing productivity.
- Respond to service and emergency situations and provide dispatching and direction to field technicians as needed.
- Monitor incoming service calls, dispatch dashboard activity, timely arrivals, service emails, communication with field technicians and keep accurate records of all communications.
- Investigate complaints and take appropriate disciplinary action when warranted.
- Prepare reports on preventative maintenance service, job status, technician activity, and other misc reporting when needed.
- Coordinate with other departments as needed.
- Train new personnel in dispatch procedures and protocols
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures.
- Evaluate personnel performance and make recommendations for improvement.
- Perform quality assurance checks on outgoing communications.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience as a dispatcher or similar role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
- Solid understanding of safety regulations
Preferred Skills and Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher
- Previous experience supervising dispatch operations
- Working knowledge of GPS systems and mapping software
- Familiarity with dispatch service and emergency protocols
M-F 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, 40+ hrs per week (averaging 2-3 OT hrs weekly) Location of
report to; Benrich Service Corporate office, based in Costa Mesa CA. The salary of a
dispatcher varies depending on their level of experience $26-35 per hr.
