Established privately owned transloading and logistics company looking for a reliable dispatcher to join our Savannah Intermodal Team. You will dispatch owner operators and company drivers to pick up and return containers from the Georgia Port. You must be able to multi-task as well as take the appropriate action with little supervision. Our goal is to ensure our employees, clients, drivers and staff grow successful with us.

Summary Position Description

The Dispatcher/Customer Service Representative has the important responsibility of being the representative of our company to our valued customers through email and phone conversations. The Dispatcher/CSR develops and maintains positive customer relations and coordinates with various department functions within the company to ensure customer requests are handled appropriately and in a timely manner.

Minimum Position Requirements

Education: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred, but not required

Work Experience:

• 1-2 years demonstrated logistics or trucking experience with a strong emphasis on customer service
• Must have 2 years experience in Intermodal Dispatching

Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Ability to multi-task or re-prioritize and adapt
• Prior customer service or relations experience, excellent oral/written communication skills
• Ability to problem solve, make independent decisions and function with minimal supervision
• Ability to work in a team environment and take direction from management and supervisors

· Ability to read and interpret documents such as waybills, load orders, etc.

Technical Requirements:

· Microsoft Office Suite, strong proficiency with Excel, Google Drive

· GPA Website (NAVIS)

· Exchange

.Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA safety regulations and requirements for compliance a plus

.TWIC card also a plus

Essential Functions /Duties Performed Regularly:

· Enter new booking details into Exchange according to customer’s load order, cross referencing with GPA website (NAVIS). Add new booking to Google Sheet under applicable customer tab.

· Follow up on any issues remaining from previous day, monitor bookings for tally discrepancies and update data on customer’s tab. Ensure attentiveness to any open concerns, such as weight issues, data discrepancies, general inquiries. Make note of any partial containers.

· Notify customer of any containers needing late gates. Update comments in exchange to reflect this information.

· Respond to emails/calls by the end of each day. Remain diligent in following up, even if a solution is not feasible by end of business. At a minimum, acknowledge that you are looking into the issue for the customer.

· Ensure bookings are entered by the end of each day. If it does not cut until the future, and it is known that we will not be using it right away, use discretion, but be disciplined in entering by the time we need to pull on it.
