Family owned Transportation Company is looking for a reliable person to join our dispatch team as a Dispatch Assistant. We currently run 25 trucks OTR and we haul general commodity freight. You will receive requests, transmit messages, and track units. This person will act as a communication point for emergency and non-emergency calls. The ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator and is able to remain calm and composed, especially in emergency situations. Strong organizational skills, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines are a must for this position. Teamwork is the foundation of our working environment!

Job Description:

• Act as communication liaison and answer incoming phone calls from drivers and customers.
• Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and customers to reduce the stress that comes with last-minute schedule changes.
• Enter load information into computer and maintain records of calls, activities and other information.
• Make delivery appointments with customers and relay information to dispatch manager and drivers.
• Collaborate with dispatch assistants to modify daily routes to accommodate the needs of customers.
• Monitor routes of units to coordinate and prioritize their schedule.
• Directs and coordinates fleet operations to ensure the availability of vehicles and drivers.
• Monitor out-of-route miles and driver fuel averages.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour
