Holiday Inn and Suites is looking for new Dishwashers to join our team. The candidate is responsible for performing various tasks related to the daily cleaning of dishes and utensils at our casual dining restaurant and bar. The ideal candidate has experience in a similar setting and is willing to spread their knowledge to others and uphold the restaurant’s high standards of excellence by providing the highest quality of service to guests. We're primarily interested in hiring individuals with a strong work ethic who are committed to keeping our kitchen and other work areas clean, as well as being able to work effectively as part of a team.

First Responsibilities:

• Wash plates, cutlery, and glassware in a commercial dishwashing machine.
• Wash dishes by hand.
• Strip, stack, and store clean dishes.
• Restock kitchen supplies and equipment.
• Learn safety regulations for handling food and cleaning chemicals.

Other Job Duties Include:

1. Assists all guests in a professional and courteous manner.
2. Performs job duties and responsibilities in a cost effective manner and within budgetary guidelines.
3. Loads, runs and unloads the dish machine. Keeps the dish machine clean and reports any functional or mechanical problems promptly to management.
4. Monitors the dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycles.
5. Washes and stores all tableware and kitchenware. Maintains adequate levels of clean tableware for dining room and kitchen use. Handles tableware carefully to prevent breakage and loss.
6. Bags and hauls dish room trash to dumpster as needed.
7. Cleans food preparation and production areas as needed.
8. Assists kitchen staff as necessary to ensure the efficient operation of the kitchen.
9. Maintains a clean, organized and appropriately stocked work area.
10. Thoroughly completes any assigned set-up, side work or closing duties.
11. Thoroughly communicates with management and associates through daily communication and attends required meetings.
12. Understands and applies all facility safety and security procedures as required to maintain a safe and secure environment for associates and guests.
13. Keeps supervisor promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters of significance coming to his/her attention so prompt corrective action can be taken.
14. Performs all other duties as assigned.

The Dishwasher works primarily indoors in a hot, wet, humid and loud environment. This position requires continuous standing and walking, and frequent lifting, carrying, bending and reaching throughout entire shift. Hazards may include, but are not limited to, slipping and tripping, working with sharp objects (knives), frequent exposure to water, heat, humidity, standard cleaning chemicals and hot surfaces/appliances. All Food & Beverage department associates are required to wear rubber soled, non-slip footwear and must follow proper safety precautions at all times to avoid injuries.

Pay starting at $10.33/hr and cross-training for Prep Cooking for $11/hr starting is available.

All positions require working some weekends and holidays. We offer competitive pay, annual performance-based increases, bonus eligibility, vacation pay, 401k and benefits to full-time Associates (after eligibility requirements have been met).
