Microsoft’s Privacy and Regulatory Affairs (PRA) legal team in Corporate, External and Legal Affairs (CELA) has an immediate opening for a Director, Regulatory Governance and Communications to join our Regulatory Governance group.
The global PRA team works across several critical domains – Privacy, Digital Safety, Responsible Artificial intelligence (AI), Accessibility Regulation, Law Enforcement and National Security, and Corporate Standards – to help Microsoft earn the public’s trust by adapting to heightened expectations and expanded global regulation. PRA’s Regulatory Governance group focuses CELA’s investments in culture, processes, and tools to advance our regulatory governance program.
Reporting to the Senior Director - Regulatory Governance, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Identifying strategic opportunities across organizational boundaries to develop a system for implementing CELA strategy-aligned regulatory governance projects and initiatives;
- Leading and driving alignment between internal stakeholders, leaders and others to prioritize and direct their teams as they work with legal, engineering and business teams to implement regulatory governance framework processes;
- Building and driving driving regulatory governance transformation experiences for PRA across multiple groups and business divisions; and developing and delivering communication, training and influence approaches and content that align internal stakeholders and drive action.

You will be part of a team working and coordinating primarily across CELA to advance an organization-scale journey built upon regulatory governance transformation. This role is highly adaptive and requires thinking, planning, doing, leading, communicating, and learning in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
Strategist. Provide expertise to partner with PRA and CELA leadership to identify, prioritize, and advance cultural, skilling and technical innovation investments to impactfully advance and scale regulatory governance capabilities across the company, defining success and performance metrics. Translates business needs into program goals, delivering on action-based outcomes.- Driver and Change Agent. Create relationships to drive orchestration and integration efforts for the implementation of CELA’s regulatory governance program. Lead strategic projects that create impact through outcomes and awareness and advance them. Drive development, staging and implementation plan for internal communications strategy to promote continued awareness and advancement of internal regulatory governance framework strategies, approaches and processes (events, listening systems, internal social mechanisms).
- Storyteller and Ambassador. Energize regulatory governance transformation across CELA by promoting success stories, prioritizing deliverables based on data insights. Evangelize and demonstrate the use of Microsoft’s regulatory governance framework, understanding and presenting return on investment to leadership.
- Content creator. Partner and collaborate with others to prioritize and deliver Regulatory Governance owned and maintained content assets including newsletters, learning experiences (training), templates, internal digital assets and sites, reference and guidance materials.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and 6+ years of relevant program management and content strategy experience in a highly complex and scalable system- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
3 years minumum experience in strategic communications programming, strategy, design and execution, with executive engagement and influence.- 8+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
- Proven program management track records with a history of delivering highly effective and collaborative work product and deliverables, adapting to dynamic business needs evolving at a fast pace.
- A growth-mindset that enables creativity in thinking, analytical skills, an ability to deal with ambiguity, management of changing priorities, and consistency in learning from others.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and partnership skills across a diverse set of audiences and stakeholders.
- Self-directing and adaptive ability to build enthusiasm for organizational change.
Technical Program Management IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
