Director of Nursing for Skilled Nursing Facility

Friends Home in Kennett, a senior supportive living community in Kennett Square, PA, is seeking a Director of Nursing for its 20-bed skilled nursing facility. Great benefits and working conditions in a home-like atmosphere where the focus is on resident care. EOE

General Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains quality skilled nursing services compatible with the mission of Friends Home and in compliance with the PA Department of Health regulations using best practices in long term care
• Tracks and Conducts Resident Assessments
• Creates schedules for Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
• Supervises Charge Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants
• Develops and carries out a sound and consistent education program for nursing staff
• Develops policies and procedures that are in compliance with regulations
• Completes pre-admission assessments, support plans and recommendations for admissions
• Provides education for residents
• Implements strategies to achieve both departmental and organizational goals
• Participates in annual Department of Health inspection process
• Responsible for building and operations during the NHA’s absence
• Conducts resident care conferences
• Conducts rounds with the medical director and reviews physician’s orders
• Ensures staff has the correct and well maintained equipment and supplies to care for residents.
• Responds quickly and responsible to resident and family concerns
• Approves vacations and payroll
• Oversees completion of required paperwork, documentation and medication procedures
• Works with other Departments within Friends Home such as Community Life and Dining Services to ensure resident needs and requirements are met

Requirements:

• BS Degree in Nursing or equivalent years of experience in long term care
• Valid RN license required (PA)
• 5 years Long-Term Care or Rehab nursing experience required
• Familiarity with Department of Health Regulations
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Experience in scheduling
• Ability to speak comfortably in front of groups
• Experience in teaching and maintaining educational records
• Experience in leadership and assessment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $94,000.00 per year
