Job description
The Director of Nursing manages/oversees nursing services provided to clients in their home. He/she accepts accountability for his/her nursing practice. The job is in Warren county at the Mason Office location. The Director of Nursing supervises a team of home health providers to promote high quality client care and to meet professional as well as Medicare/Medicaid standards. This individual serves as resource and support system to nursing and support staff. He/she assists with assignment of patient care to appropriate home health clinicians.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Baccalaureate Degree of Science in Nursing is preferred. Associate Degree of Science in Nursing with strong experience background shall be considered.
- Current license from the State of Ohio to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- A minimum of 5 years experience in home health care, one year or more of management or supervisory experience is desirable.
- Compliant with accepted professional standards of care
- Must be licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state of Ohio requirements.
- Possesses and maintains current CPR certification
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receives case referrals. Reviews patient information related to case, including home visits, to determine home care needs of patients. Obtains/verifies physicians authorization for services.
- Oversees the development, implementation and evaluation of adequate staffing to address staffing needs for delivery of home health services. Assists with assignment of appropriate staff members to case.
- Reviews all documentation submitted by nursing and home health clinical staff.
- Oversees coordination of services provided to clients by the agency.
- Periodically reviews client’s medical diagnosis, medications, procedures and clinical course.
- Motivates staff members to work together as a team.
- Evaluates the clinical knowledge and skills of individual staff members.
- Works with staff to improve weaknesses.
- Observes clinical competence of direct care providers, at least annually.
- May assist in the screening and interviewing process of new agency personnel and makes recommendations for employment of individuals. May assist in the orientation of new agency personnel.
- May assist other supervisory agency personnel in the planning, implementation and evaluation of in-service and continuing education programs.
- Encourages professional growth of staff by exposure to clinical seminars or conferences.
- Participates in Continuous Quality Improvement Activities.
- Complies with accepted professional standards of care.
- Is available at all times during operating hours to assist staff, as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the CEO.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
