JOB SUMMARY:

The Director of Human Resources and Talent Development is responsible for directing the Human Resources Department including Talent Acquisition and Development. Responsible for the strategic human resource planning including employee benefits, employee recruiting and retention, leadership development and to position the organization as the employer of choice by being aware of policies, practices and trends within the industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the HR department to develop, guide and implement plans for continual improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the department as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
  • Directs wage and salary administration, employee benefit programs, Family Medical Leave, workers’ compensation, human resources and compliance with applicable regulations and laws.
  • Reviews and approves policies for all Livingston HealthCare human resource, to ensure adherence to professional and legal standards, quality of service, fiscal control, and customer relations
  • Develops and implements an ongoing plan for organizational leadership development.
  • Periodically reviews and makes recommendations regarding employee benefits, deferred compensation plan administration, etc.
  • Prepares and administers the department’s annual operating and capital budget within financial expectations; accounts for variance
  • Recruits, develops, retains, and leads an appropriate number of personnel to meet department needs and the goals and objectives of Livingston HealthCare.
  • Develops an annual education plan
  • Adheres to administrative policies and procedures relating to human resource management.

  • Other duties as needed and assigned by the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10 years or greater in management, progressive roles in Human Resources
  • Experience in human resources management, including knowledge of federal and state laws pertaining to employments practices.
  • Ability to serve as a role model for the LHC Standards of Excellence.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written or oral form.
  • Ability to treat employee information with confidentiality as appropriate.
  • Ability to defuse tense, stressful situations as needed.
  • Ability to be efficient and accurate in job performance.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources.
  • Previous experience in healthcare setting.
