City Experiences is seeking a F&B Administrator for our Boston Harbor City Cruises operation in Boston, MA.

About the Opportunity:

The successful Food & Beverage Administrator oversees administration and documentation for the city food & beverage department and provides operational leadership support to ensure consistently high levels of quality service and customer satisfaction while maintaining a high level of profitability and employee retention.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Administer and facilitate all food and beverage department-related administration and documentation tasks and activities.
  • Support in coordinating all pier/parking/dock logistic activities: busses, deliveries, waste removal, and services.
  • Coordinate, communicate, and document food and beverage project work.
  • Reconcile weekly food and beverage cost and revenue results: labor, general restaurant and kitchen supplies, disposables, food and beverage.
  • Reconcile invoices and statements; investigate delivery invoice discrepancies as needed.
  • Support the Food & Beverage Director in the preparation of financial forecast reports and explanations, preparation of annual operational budgets and capital projects.
  • Update and post weekly schedules as needed.
  • Overall responsible for entertainment programs and TV content.
  • Support in managing all sweepstakes, incentive and non-incentive contests for managers, supervisors, and staff.
  • Communicate monthly financial, guest satisfaction scores, and audit results to city Crew – including continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions.
  • Support restaurant seating charts and capacities and upsell/enhancement offering inventory with the Sales department.
  • Support food safety and sanitation programs, training, audits, reporting, and corrective action reports.
  • Schedule and report results of all physical inventories of food, beverages, equipment, and suplies.
  • Ensure all boats and departments adhere to all operational par levels: food, beverage, equipment, supplies, labor, uniforms, and cash.
  • Ensure compliance and coordinate effective pre-cruise briefings, pre-cruise checking of the boat, food tasting, boat close-down procedures, and debriefings.
  • Review and follow up on all post-cruise reports, Quality Assurance (QA) programs, and media postings.
  • Oversee all Food & Beverage uniform program.
  • Support food and beverage technology systems hardware, configuration, projects and reporting point of sales (POS), restaurant seating, purchasing, inventory control, and labor (Time and Attendance)
  • Document and facilitate facility and equipment repair and maintenance needs based on walk-through and post-cruise notes.

Operational Support

  • Assist Directors of Food & Beverage with the development and implementation of food & beverage projects as directed.
  • Provide coverage for Food & Beverage Directors as needed.
  • Develop positive working relationships with city department heads, peers, and Corporate HQ.
  • Attend applicable meetings as designated or necessary.
  • Help support city goals and strategic initiatives through other duties as assigned.
  • Volunteer to support and partake in task-force activities that benefit the organization, city, RESPECT, customer service programs, and other company seasonal/temporary activities.
  • Additional job duties as assigned.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Bachelor’s degree or Associates degree in a related field preferred.
  • Four (4) to five (5) years of progressive experience in the hospitality and/or food & beverage industry.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of food & beverage administration work experience.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of food & beverage managerial experience with direct reports.
  • Experience within diverse restaurants venues and concepts, i.e. banquets, a la carte, buffet services, both in casual and upscale properties.
  • Exceptional knowledge and experience in leading restaurant teams and managing restaurant operation.
  • Working knowledge of accounting, P&L review and invoice processing.
  • Leadership experience with food safety and sanitation – ‘Serve Safe’ certified or similar.
  • Leadership experience with alcohol safety – “TIPS” certified or similar.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong editorial acumen.
  • Familiar with Continuous Improvement methodologies preferred.
  • Familiar with personal and organizational KPI systems and measurements preferred.
  • Experienced in developing, implementing and maintaining standard operating policies and procedures.
  • Active member of at-least 1 relevant industry organizations preferred.
  • Working knowledge of point of sales (POS) systems.
  • Must be computer literate and highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
