Key finance leadership position reporting to the VP Finance Commercial, with high visibility to senior leaders across the organization. This position serves as a dynamic, strategic partner to the Sales organization. Through this partnership, the role is responsible for assessing the market and competitive trends, proposing growth opportunities, developing the financial impact of brand/product/promotion initiatives, evaluating customer & brand profitability/effectiveness, partnering with sales representatives to develop strategic account plans, assisting in regular strategic and quarterly reporting to MasterBrand executives, monitoring the execution of sound internal controls surrounding sales, and reporting & explaining monthly financial performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Understand the financials of the business to drive the desired behavior in the sales environment
  • Direct financial analysis efforts related to promotion planning and product pricing
  • Engage in the development of market strategies; supporting evaluation of customers’ unmet needs, market size & trends, fit to our business model, competitive advantage, channel access and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Analyze key drivers and trends of sales profitability such as returns and allowances, promotional costs, etc.
  • Ensure a sound internal control environment around all customer discounts, promos, rebates and gross to nets.
  • In conjunction with the Accounting Department, lead the team responsible for compensation payouts for the sales force, including both commission based and salaried heads
  • In conjunction with Accounting and FP&A departments, lead month-end closing, forecasting, and annual budget processes for gross-to-net sales accounts, mix and corporate period expenses for the sales & marketing organization
  • Determine and cascade best business practices across channel teams to leverage systems capability and drive efficiency
  • Regularly engage in special projects related to finance & accounting efficiency improvement goals
  • Consistently demonstrate our MasterBrand Way, positioning the company for growth and helping identify opportunities to reduce waste, complexity, and improve our work environment

  • Excellent understanding of the principles of corporate finance valuation and financial statement analysis
  • Demonstrates trust in the process of lean methodologies and tools. Approaches situations through a fact-based lens. Analyzes data, draws conclusions, makes recommendations, and presents findings logically and simply.
  • Critically assesses and simplifies processes and controls, and challenge business drivers and risks.

  • Moves forward through strong organizational and execution skills. Able to champion core issues, develop resourceful and creative solutions and drive results. Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills are a must. Ability to drive successful execution of strategic plans.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – the ability to take complex subject matter and package in a story-board format that is clear and simple at various levels in the organization including the executive level.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics is required; CPA, CMA, or MBA is a plus
  • Minimum of 8 years overall financial experience with significant exposure to strategy, finance, sales and marketing and/or product development
  • Progressive experience working cross-functionally within a complex organization
  • Strong data mining and analytical skills within a complex IT environment
