Playfly Sports is looking for a Director, Business Development & Strategy who will facilitate partnerships with ticket rightsholders across Pro Sports, College Athletics, Concerts, Attractions, etc.
You will own the relationship between Playfly Sports and your clients, helping to facilitate mutually beneficial partnership clients and technology partners. It is essential that you have significant contacts and experience in the industry to perform technical demonstrations of our technology and to sell strategically and effectively.
You need to be able to learn quickly, learn from failure, and perform many different functions. The ideal candidate will want to take ownership of their client’s experience, set the vision, and deliver.
Responsibilities:
  • Directly in charge of structuring and managing new revenue-generating partnerships and businesses.
  • Negotiate business development deals with partners to develop new streams of revenue.
  • Manage new businesses and partnerships to drive financial value and success via sales management, internal communication, and overall program management.
  • Aggressively pursue and develop new business plans for initiatives that can use Playfly Sport's competitive advantages, position in the market, and strategic resources; plus execution with Senior management’s approval
  • Ensure optimal market coverage by participating in client activities, trade association events, and any ancillary activities that can assist in better visibility and partner opportunities
  • Serve as an expert consulting resource for ticket pricing offerings and assist the internal teams and clients to better understand and utilize such offerings
  • Tasked with developing relationships with other technology companies, ticket marketplaces, primary ticketing systems, startups, etc. and subsequently developing strategic partnerships and revenue opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • This position requires Bachelor’s degree; MBA preferred; Subject matter preference in Ticketing, Sports, Concerts, or related fields
  • Interest in and general understanding of the sports, concerts and live events industry with current contacts within the aforementioned business sectors is a must
  • A minimum of 3-5 years of product sales and or experience in sports or entertainment is required
  • Experience in business development, partner sourcing, and deal structuring; reaching out to partner prospects in the US and abroad
  • Significant existing industry relationships and ability to establish new contacts and interact at senior levels
  • Ability to craft new business plans and projections for new initiatives and partners
  • Must have strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, presentation, public speaking, and project management skills are imperative to this role
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office computer applications, including Word and Outlook is necessary
  • Must have the ability for analytical reasoning of sales and research and must be technologically savvy with propensity for understanding new technology platforms and how they apply to our business model
  • A proven ability to develop and maintain successful internal and external business relationships is essential
Compensation includes salary plus commission on sales and company benefits.
