Job Summary and Qualifications

The Director of Medical-Surgical Units is responsible for the management of designated Medical-Surgical Units and other hospital appointed clinical operations. This position provides leadership and focuses on the development, implementation, and administration of patient care services within these departments. Participates in strategic planning, financial forecasting, recruitment and retention initiatives, and other aspects of patient care delivery at the direction of the Associate Chief Nursing Officer. Manages the financial and capital budgets to ensure services meet established quality standards, and develops solutions and action plans to address efficiency, quality, culture, and financial issues. Embraces and consistently demonstrates Culture of Excellence and ICARE standards of behavior, encompassing both patients, employees, physicians and other stakeholders.

What qualifications you will need:

• A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate nursing licensure Current BCLS certification through AHA or ARC.

  B. Education: Bachelors of Science in Nursing required. Master’s degree in nursing, business or healthcare related field preferred.

  C. Experience: 3 - 5 years progressive management in required. Strong financial analysis, human resource experience and regulatory compliance experience preferred.
