Alexander's Abilities, Inc has provided services to individuals with developmental disabilities since 1991. Our Adult Day Program (DTA) is goal oriented with an emphasis on community interaction. All members that attend our DTA programs receive services through the AZ Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). We work in a fun and easy-going environment while maintaining a strong work ethic. We are currently looking to add to this dynamic team.
Alexander's Abilities is currently seeking a Direct Support Professional to work with adults with developmental disabilities at our DTA Day Programs Valley Wide. We are looking for dependable and professional staff, who have a desire to work with individuals with developmental disabilities.
Currently Hiring for EAST AND WEST VALLEY: Full Time 5 days a week (Monday - Friday)
GLENDALE: Cactus & 67th Ave
- DSP with FT Driver Responsibilities (7am-5pm) $14/hr with OVERTIME PAY.
PHOENIX: 35th Ave & Osborn
- DSP with FT Driver Responsibilities (7am-5pm) $14/hr with OVERTIME PAY
TEMPE: Baseline & Ash
- DSP with FT Driver Responsibilities (7am-5pm) $14/hr with OVERTIME PAY
CHANDLER: Dobson & Elliot
- DSP with FT Driver Responsibilities (7am-5pm) $14/hr with OVERTIME PAY
MESA: Power & Main
- DSP (Female Only and able to lift 50+ lbs) Monday - Thursday (8am-4pm) and Friday (7:30am-4:30pm) $14/hr with OVERTIME PAY

Direct Support Professional Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist in implementation of daily activities, living skills, behavior management, and help members achieve their goals and objectives
- Interact with members to promote opportunities for peer and community integration
- Serve as role model and positive influence for members and co-workers
- Ensure accurate documentation and tracking of member goal progression
DSP additional responsibilities (as needed):
- Assist members with feeding & personal hygiene
- Hand-over-hand assistance with activities
- Assist with behavior management utilizing Prevention & Support methods
- Write narratives on incident reports
- Documentation & summaries of member goal progress
- Assist members with loading and off-loading from vehicles
- Other duties as requested
Driver Responsibilities:
- Drive AM and PM routes to transport members to and from program
- Assist loading and unloading individuals when needed (including lifting individuals)
- Maintain accurate record of daily transportation times for members
- Perform weekly vehicle inspections
Minimum Qualifications:
- MUST PASS AZ DPS Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance application & Criminal History check- State of Arizona requirement
- Valid Arizona Driver’s License with clean driving history- State of Arizona Requirement (For Driving Position)
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
- Frequent amounts of walking and standing
- 18+ years of age
- 21+ years of age (for driving position)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Minimum 3 references
