Diesel Maintenance Technician

What will you enjoy doing (duties/tasks)

· Assist in performing most repairs and services

· Perform routine preventative maintenance and general reconditioning of equipment on Class 1 through Class 8 vehicles

· Diagnose, document, and repair starting system, charging system, aftertreatment, ABS, HVAC, cab, telematics, and engine fault codes (Company supplied OEM software) following proper warranty procedures

· Repair / Replace brakes, steering components, suspension, and perform alignments

· Replace clutches & transmissions

· Communicate with management and other technicians to ensure that all work is completed on time and to a high standard

· Responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment

The individual in this position must be capable of performing all of the essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation.

What you need to succeed (Qualifications, experience, skills, attributes)

· Minimum one year of experience in diagnostics and maintaining Class 1 through 8 diesel vehicles. (Completion of an approved technician training program UTI, Lincoln Tech, etc.)

· Ability to deliver exceptional service through positive engagement and patience

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment to promote a culture of trust and safety to continuously improve results

· Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed

· Own basic tools within 30 days

Physical Demands

· Constantly positions oneself to operate, inspect, and move up to 60 pounds

· Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard daily

· Detect, recognize, and assess printed text and handwritten documents

· Able to communicate and exchange accurate information
