Job description

THE ROLE

We design, manufacture, and install structural steel and metal building systems for the commercial construction market. We are looking for a designer/detailer to transform customer requirements and field measurements into shop fabrication drawings using Metal Building Software (MBS), Tekla Structures, SketchUp and AutoCAD. You will be responsible for reviewing customer drawings/notes and incorporating field measurements to design stairways, guardrails, ladders, handrails, structural beams, metal building rafters/columns and many other items in a 3D model to be reviewed and approved by our engineering manager. Once approved, you will create fabrication drawings for our shop to create the parts you have designed. Depending on the project, you may need to submit these drawings for customer review/approval and incorporate any feedback from the customer into the final set of drawings that are released to fabrication. During fabrication, you may need to verify a dimension or add some additional clarification details to your drawings. REQUIREMENTS

- Knowledge of Common Drafting Techniques & Methods

- Experience with Metal Building Design and Sheet & Trim detailing

- Creativity & Problem-Solving Skills

- Experience with one of the following: MBS, Tekla Structures, Sketch Up, Revit or AutoCAD

-Ability to work under pressure in order to meet customer deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $27.00 per hour
