Equivalent ExperienceDescription:
The Manager of Desktop Support is responsible for supporting and leading the team of desktop technicians that service the school’s computer systems, desktops, and peripherals in a hybrid environment. The Manager of Desktop Support will work with 3rd party and internal resources to coordinate support, provide superior customer service, and optimize the desktop environment. The Manager of Desktop Support will be responsible for the satisfactory performance of the following tasks and responsibilities.
- Lead the team to support staff and families with issues regarding computers and peripherals.
- Develop improvement initiatives to ensure optimal performance and achievement of SLAs.
- Collaborate with 3rd party partners regarding customer service and equipment fulfillment.
- Work closely with applications and infrastructure teams to support enterprise level tasks.
- Develop talent within the team by leveraging opportunities and projects.
- Evaluate staff performance regularly, providing reporting and recommendations to leadership.
- Conduct one-on-one coaching, team meetings and professional development as needed.
Education/Qualifications
- Minimum Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field and two (2) technical certifications preferred or Associate Degree in IT and four (4) technical certifications (Example: CompTIA Core certs, MCSA, MTA etc.).
- Experience Requirements:
- Four (4) years of experience in desktop or information systems support.
- Two (2) years of experience in leading desktop or information systems support teams.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Leading teams through servant leadership and continuous improvement.
- Prioritizing tasks and achieving success in a timely manner.
- Attentive to details, mindful of interpersonal dynamics, and analytical in execution.
- Broad range of information technology knowledge/experience.
- Communicating effectively in customer friendly terms verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of the IT team.

Essential Functions / Duties / Responsibilities:
- Must reside in the state of Pennsylvania.
background checks required for all school employees in Pennsylvania. This position could include limited travel and could include limited overnight travel.
Physical Requirements/Environment
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, sit, lift, reach, communicate (vision, hearing, and speech).
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Effectively carry out functions, duties, and responsibilities.
- Ability to independently ambulate.
- Ability to travel to and from assigned work locations without employer support.
- Able to independently read, write, speak, and comprehend the English language.
- Ability to work every Monday through Friday during normal work hours, as well as infrequent extended hours and attendance at scheduled evening meetings.
- Must have sufficient visual acuity to be able to work with computers and associated equipment as well as read and interpret handwritten documents.
