Job: Sterilization Technician- Full Time, Moorpark, CA

$18-22/hour plus health benefits

The Sterilization Technician is a part of the back office team that is primarily responsible for decontamination. This position also assists hygienists and helps in the laboratory. The Sterilization Technician is critical to patient safety and must provide services in a timely manner, working with other team members to exhibit an efficient and positive encounter to every patient experience.

• 
  Serve as an infection control officer developing infection control protocol, prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Wipe down and set up operatories
• Maintain sterilization equipment, solutions, and perform quality control checks
• Help with back office inventory
• Assist dental hygienists as needed including but not limited to sealants and perio charting
• Help take digital dental radiographs (x-rays) as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment including operatory clean up, laundry, and supply storage
• Monitor, document, and update safety and injury programs/protocols/postings including keeping current SDS handy and organized, handling/storage of hazardous materials
• Participate in daily huddles, team, and office meetings
• Help any office teammate facilitate patient care as needed
• Consistently demonstrate professional behavior in accordance with the practice values, policies, and procedures
• Work well with patients, vendors, and other team members
• Complete additional tasks and projects as requested
• Regular and timely attendance
• Other duties as assigned to meet the needs of the Practice

Required Qualifications:

• Dental Assistant Certificate
• Working knowledge of OSHA & HIPPA guidelines
• First Aid / CPR certified
• Demonstrate mastery over sterile preparations and aseptic technique
• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) a plus
• 2 years experience as a sterilization technician preferred
• High school degree or equivalent preferred
• Radiology License preferred
• Inventory experience preferred
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills
• Must be able to function in a high-paced and high-stress environment
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize daily workload

  Must maintain a positive, friendly, supportive attitude and professional image at all times
• Ability to work independently and within a team to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Schedule: Predetermined schedule of eight hours per day for up to five business days per week. Possible late night, early morning, or weekend availability depending on emergency patient care. Must be very punctual arriving to work to keep office schedule running on time.
