Job description
The Delivery Logistics Manager serves our internal and external customers by leading efforts to established standards and to assist the Sales Operations Managers in providing technical execution, implementation and improved utilization and adoption of route planning software to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the delivery system so the company can reduce waste, increase sales and profits.
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversees routing, planning and scheduling activities including software updates (e.g. GreenMile, Advanced Scheduler) to maintain accurate date and ensure consistent utilization by all users; provides training and support to end users to improve utilization.
- Works with the Sales Operations Managers, On Premise managers and Operations team to develop and execute re-route plans for selling, delivering and merchandising routes.
- Reviews changes in customer base and works with SOMM’s, On Premise Management and operation to oversee revisions to the all delivery and sales systems in conjunction to ensure maximum operational efficiency.
- Leads efforts to improve and optimize delivery efforts ensuring coordination to routing and planning efforts.
- Provides leadership to align and improve total supply chain efforts across the Field, On Premise and Operations teams.
- Manages, trains and develops employees to ensure that they are performing job duties in accordance with established standards.
- Provides support to Delivery Logistics Coordinators by managing workload and ensuring consistent coverage; performs Delivery Logistics Coordinator job duties to provide coverage from absences from work (e.g. vacation, personal days, leave of absence).
- Communicates with customers, co-workers and employees on issues regarding delivery times, products and problems that arise at the retailer location.
- Creates and maintains database for reporting and routing purposes; completes, approves and maintains employee performance reviews and other paperwork according to established company policy; reviews and approves time-off requests.
- Ensures that company policies, standards and procedures are met, followed and maintained in accordance with established company policy (e.g. OSHA, DOT and safety compliance, Federal/State/Local laws).
- Maintains confidentiality of financial information, customer information, employee information (e.g. discipline, wage information), and other sensitive and confidential information.
- Works assigned schedule, exhibits regular and predictable attendance and works outside of normal schedule as required to meet workload demands. Performs other related duties as required.
Experience: Associate’s Degree required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Must have 3-5 years of previous logistics planning and routing and database creation experience and 1-3 years of previous supervisory experience.
Computer Skills: Must be proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite including Access; working knowledge of UPS Logistics Transportation Suite is strongly preferred; previous Green Mile and Advanced Scheduler experience strongly preferred.
Certifications & Licenses: Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of initial and continuing employment.
Other Requirements: Knowledge of: retail sales and distribution environment; beverage industry; routing; product line; Microsoft Office suite; database management. Skill in: internal and external customer service; solving problems quickly and effectively; planning and organizing; training and coaching. Ability to: train, develop, manage and lead a team; work quickly, efficiently and independently; multi-task; communicate effectively with customers and other employees both verbally and in writing; adapt to change; develop and maintain good working relationships; operate a computer; delegate.
