Overview:
Alabama Crown is currently hiring for Day Shift Distribution Management for our Alabaster Al location. This position will plan, coordinate, control and manage warehouse operations, along with perfomring warehouse duties throughout the shift.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, controlling and managing the warehouse operations ,along with performing warehouse associate duties throughout the shift.
Position duties will include, but are not limited to:
  • Plan, direct and coordinate all areas of activities, through Managers and Supervisors, including receiving, order processing, loading, materials management, quality control and cost control.
  • Responsible for strict control over breakage, spoilage, adjustments, inventory maintenance and replenishment
  • Establishes and effectively manages departmental budgets and objectives.
  • Manage employees, including hiring, training, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions and terminations.
  • Provides direct leadership to managers and supervisors including mentoring, performance reviews, development, training and promoting a team-oriented environment.
  • Provides analysis and development of the distribution process including quality, safety and cost reduction.
  • Responsible for integration and management of strategic initiatives related to distribution.
  • Develops and establishes plans, operating objectives, production standards, goals and performance standards for warehouse operations.
  • Opening/closing facility as needed
  • Enforcing company policies & procedures.
  • Ensuring policies and procedures are followed regarding security and safety in order to maintain a safe working environment (i.e., OSHA compliance, forklift certifications are current, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • 5+ years minimum upper warehouse management experience in a fast-paced, multi-shift warehouse environment.
  • JBA experience preferred.
  • WMS / RFID Technology experience required.
  • Supply Chain Industry and 3 PL knowledge preferred.
  • Must be able to operate a forklift: Sit Down/Reach Truck/Cherry Picker
  • Must be able to obtain & maintain forklift certification & trainer certification.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to plan and control logistics.
  • Must have advanced computer skills (i.e. word, outlook, excel, data entry)
  • Must have and be able to maintain valid driver’s license.
  • Must have and be able to maintain 100/300/100 liability insurance.
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs repetitively.
  • Must be able to communicate with people effectively and professionally.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking warehouse environment.
  • Must possess strong customer service skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to work independently and with little to no supervision.
  • Must be able and willing to take direction.
  • Must be able to pass background checks (i.e. police background, reference checks, etc.)
  • Motor Vehicle Record will be pulled to establish employment eligibility.
    • No DUI/DWI, reckless driving or hit-and-run in past 5 years·
    • No more than 2 moving violations/at-fault accidents in past 3 years.Must be able to maintain 100/300/100 liability limits on personal vehicle
  • Warehouse environment subject to change (i.e. weather, dust, fumes, etc.)
  • Must be willing to work overtime when needed
  • Must be willing to work in all areas of warehouse operations on a regular basis
  • Must be able to work long hours, there is no definite quit time, must be able to work until the shift is complete
