The JHU Department of Environmental Health and Engineering is seeking a Community Program Assistant (Day at the Market Assistant) who will assist at the Day at the Market with carrying out program activities such as display preparation, interaction with organizational partners who attend D@M , and patrons of the market in a coordinated response to programming. Also, keeping statistics of participation, assisting with break down and set up of the day's programs, and assisting the D@M Manager. Schedule: Weekly hours vary as needed, around 25 per mo., mostly on Weds.Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative tasks, community outreach, program set-up, recordkeeping and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):
High School Diploma/ GED.
Six months of related experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to communicate with diverse populations and with various levels of positions and management.
Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :
People person who demonstrates a teachable spirit; must be dependable and flexible.
Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:
Average to above-average computer skills in word processing, documents management and facility using the Internet Explorer and Google Chrome.
Physical Requirements:
Moving supplies from one place to another.

The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
