At GDIT, people are our differentiator. As an experienced Databricks Support Specialist supporting the customer. A significant amount of cloud infrastructure is required in order to meet the storage and retention required to realize the full Migration of the current EDL to the cloud.

HOW A DATABRICKS SUPPORT SPECIALIST WILL MAKE AN IMPACT:

• Develop and implement dashboards to monitor performance, executor health and credits consumption.
• Configure alerts when job runtimes exceeds threshold, or data latencies are higher than expected.
• Develop procedures for monitoring dashboards and alerts.
• Integrate Databricks/Azure monitoring/alerting within the USPS monitoring environment.
• Advisory services and recommendations for issues that arise during the period of performance
  

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree is preferred

Required Experience:

• 10 years of related work experience.

Required Technical Skills:

• Strong skills and experience in regards to Cloud Operations support in Azure
• Strong Experience supporting large scale/enterprise level Cloud environments
• Strong Experience supporting several cloud services related to compute, network, databases, etc
• Experience in using Databricks or other Spark-based platforms
• Knowledge of or experience in using any of the following: Sqoop, Oozie, Flume
• Fluency in at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, Ruby or equivalent)
• Ability to troubleshoot cloud resource problems and perform complex system tests
• Develop and maintain accurate documentation for internal procedures and services
• Ability to automate solutions to repetitive problems/tasks
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services
• Integration of Git, in continuous deployment
• Experience with DevOps monitoring tools
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Creative thinking skills
• Detail-oriented personality
• Ability to communicate well to other members of the development team

Preferred Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of cloud networking at scale
• Ability to break down complex networking concepts and present them in a concise way
• Shell scripting experience
• PowerShell

Security Clearance Level:

• Public Trust
• The security clearance for this program requires the selected candidate to have resided in the US for the past five years. The selected candidate cannot have left the country for longer than 90 consecutive days and no more than 180 cumulative days.

Location:

• Local hybrid work arrangement with 2 days onsite 3 days remote; need to be able to commute to client office in Raleigh, NC
