Overview:
Atlantic Health System is seeking a full-time Data Coordinator for the Trauma Administration department at Morristown Medical Center to work 8AM - 4PM.
Responsibilities:
Essential Function/Responsibilities:
  • Provides on-going data collection to maintain verification by the American College of Surgeons (ACS). Provides information regarding any new ACS requirements and will suggest or assist in implementing any changes necessary to meet the ACS verification standards.
  • Maintains trauma registry data collection and data validation in conjunction with the lead registrar.
  • Supports trauma specific reports for research projects and initiatives.
  • Assists with performance and process improvement in the care provided to trauma patients by measuring and identifying variations in care and clinical outcomes.
  • Assists in the development of, in conjunction with the Trauma Medical Director,Trauma Nurse Coordinator, PI Coordinator and lead registrar , filters or user defined data points for data entry to support performance improvement and/or specific project initiatives.
  • Acts as liaison to Information Technology and the Registry vendor to facilitate system changes/upgrades and to troubleshoot system issues.
  • Maintain CSTR certification and complete 4 hours of registry-specific continuing education per year.
  • Assures confidentiality of Trauma data in compliance with HIPPA standards.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
  • High School graduate
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
Minimum Experience:
  • Trauma experience, AIS/ISS, ICD-10 coding familiarity is highly recommended.
  • Previous Registry/Report Writing experience strongly preferred.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills, communication (both written and verbal) skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must also possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize requests and assignments.

License/Certification:
  • Certified Abbreviated Injury Scale Specialist (CAISS) certification within two (2) years of hire.
