Third Party Data Services Consultant

Responsibilities

• Support and facilitate Corporate Data Governance principles and initiatives. Understand data is an asset and how it enables different business processes for competitive advantage.
• Work closely and collaboratively with data consumers in the business and with third party data providers to source data for the business needs. Enable users to derive business value.
• Act as single point of contact with third party data vendors overseeing negotiations and managing spend. Identify opportunities to reduce costs.
• Organize, describe, and catalog third party data sources into data catalogs promoting discoverability in search tools
• Work closely with procurement, legal, and coordinate other internal/external organizations to purchase, manage licensing and data access, and validate invoices are correct
• Advise the business on which third party data products meet their needs. Understand who the third-party data providers are, awareness of their products / data sets, and how those products are licensed is preferable.
• Understand data integrations and interfaces with other processes, systems and organizations
• Evaluate data utilization and subscription costs

Desired Experience and Skills

• Experience managing and analyzing structured and unstructured data
• Experience managing stakeholder requirements and expectations, supporting needs, managing the intake process, and asking questions to scope and solve requests
• Strong presentation, consulting, and negotiating skills is required
• Analytical, problem-solving, problem identification skills is required
• Organizational/time management skills is required
• Experience with SQL, Python, Excel, and Tableau is preferred
• Are you competent in the following business activities
• Understanding Master Services Agreements, Order and Amendments
• Processing Invoices, obtaining business approvals, digitally filing documents with appropriate metadata etc.
• Are you available to work onsite in Houston as well as be available for early/late meetings to take in overseas time zone considerations on occasion?
• Are you competent in any of the following technologies are you comfortable with and please provide some examples of how you’ve used them in your work
• SAP
• ServiceNow
• Share point
• Excel (Pivot Tables, Charts, Power Query), PowerBI
• Alma
• OneNote
• Snowflake
• SQL Server

Job Type: Contract

Salary: $50.00 - $80.00 per hour

Experience:

• Data governance: 4 years (Preferred)
• Third Party: 3 years (Preferred)
