The Liberty Mutual US Technology Data and Analytics Engineering (DAE) team is seeking a passionate Data Governance Solutions Architect for its Data Strategy & Design (DS&D) team to support Global Analytics data ecosystems enabling business and technology capabilities through solutions in data management, Lakehouse, Business Intelligence, Data Science/Advanced Analytics via cloud technologies. This individual will work within the Data and Analytics Engineering (DAE) group within Global Retail Markets (GRM) Technology reporting to the Director of Data Strategy & Design (DS&D) team.
As a Data Governance Architect you’ll develop/manage a Global Data Governance strategy to manage the information life cycle effectively. Assist with Data Governance Council, winning buy-in from Senior Management. Develop/Drive governance strategy working directly with senior management and teams to ensure alignment with the overall objectives. Write standards and policies for Data Governance for guiding the development of data science systems, technical and product standards based on business plans and long-term strategies, while working in an agile environment that has the creative energy of a start-up—and the full backing and comprehensive benefits of a Fortune 100 company.

About the role:
- Define scope and priorities for developing, deploying and/or improving data management standards, policies, and processes enhancing the quality and completeness of the organization’s data.
- Create architecture, support design, implementation, and delivery of enterprise Data Governance solutions, ranging from various initiatives – Data Governance, Data model, Data integration/movement, Data Catalogue, Data Quality to name a few
- Define key risks for data management and ensure compliance with related policies, roles and responsibilities and standards.
- Work with the Data Council and Data Owners across business units to oversee enforcement
- Maintain overall accountability for the Data Governance program, inclusive of communication, stakeholder involvement, metrics and reporting, working group activities, conveying business value recognized through governance-facilitated activities.
- Serve as SPOC for Data Governance related activities
- Maintain and promote key data governance deliverables/assets, including data policies, data standards and data management roles and decision frameworks
- Design and own future state concept of operations through the development of business process models and data flow diagrams
- Document, assess, influence and synthesize business requirements to develop, enable and advance data governance and stewardship capabilities
- Develop Key Performance Indicators and dashboards to measure the success of the data governance program
- Partner with business leadership to identify problems, and opportunities for governance with a focus on Data.
- Ability to conceive and portray the big data picture, analyzes current state and conceives desired future state, and conceives projects needed to close the gap
- Accelerate delivery by forming a network of positive relationships with influencers within the enterprise and beyond.
- Time management and multitasking skills to effectively meet challenging deadlines
- Proficiency in data modeling, very good understanding of data management concepts such as 3NF, Data Vault, Dimensional and their specific applications
- Experience in Agile development methodologies
- Excellent client facing and team player skills
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in technical discipline;
- 10 or more years of experience working as a data governance lead in a global company in a complex, multi-platform distributed environment.
- Hands-on experience in implementing an enterprise data governance program and Master Data Management (MDM) solution
- Knowledge of industry leading data quality and data protection management practices
- Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection
- Knowledge of data related US and international regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Strong project leadership and management skills to lead organizational change to effectively meet strategic and tactical goals
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to present to a target audience
- Must be detail orientated/articulate with strong time management and organizational skills
- Proven management/supervisory experience
- Expertise in a wide variety of database technologies, from RDBMS like Snowflake, Oracle or DB2 to NoSQL systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or Elastic search, and can explain their varied use cases.
