Location: On-site in our East Lansing, MI office

• Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that ingest and process large amounts of data from multiple sources
• Work with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and develop solutions that meet those needs
• Design and implement data models, schemas, and structures that optimize data retrieval and analysis
• Develop and maintain data warehousing and ETL processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency
• Participate in work stream planning process including inception, technical design, development, testing and delivery of BI solutions
• Contribute to agile team alignment and continuous improvement efforts
• Participate in team ceremonies sprint planning, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospectives
• Identify and document metadata issues across all assigned data domains
• Understanding of the metadata captured to manage data and participate in the creation and maintenance of metadata in the metadata tool
• Validate that a project's requirements have been thoroughly tested to prevent any negative impact to existing programs
• Troubleshoot and resolve data issues in a timely and efficient manner
• Ensure data security and compliance with privacy regulations

• 5+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field or combination of education and experience
• A passion for technology and initiative in using creative approaches to analyze business data
• Proficiency in SQL and data modeling
• Experience with data integration tools and processes, such as SSIS or Data Factory
• Experience with DW/BI tools such as SQL Server, SSRS, Power BI Desktop/Services, PowerQuery, and DAX
• Experience with cloud-based data storage and computing platforms, such as AWS or Azure
• Experience with formal SDLC controls and processes
• Experience with ITIL, Dev/DataOps, and CI/CD
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
