The Data Demand & Testing Manager provides leadership and supervisory oversight to team members conducting market risk feed integration projects. Prioritizes requests for market risk feed UATs based on regulatory impact, available system and human resources and expected project duration. Applies in-depth knowledge of the end-to-end testing process lifecycle for all ICG businesses including GSP, Commodities, Equities, Rates, FXLM, and CVA. Oversees the evolution of the techniques, processes and tools used by the Data Demand & Testing team. Strong communication and diplomatic skills are required in order to liaise with representatives of Global Market Risk, Market Risk Analytics, QRS, front office risk technology teams and the Market Risk Technology team.

Group supervisory responsibility, ensuring motivation and development of the team through professional leadership to include duties such as performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary and terminations as well as direction of daily tasks and responsibilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and prioritize multiple, simultaneous risk integration UAT projects
  • Manage the overall team's book of work in the context of new regulatory and BAU project requests
  • Assign projects to team members using judgment based on experience with asset class, geographic location relative to client teams and overall workload per team member
  • Represent Data Demand & Testing team and the DARC team more broadly in working groups, steering committees and related foraCommunicate expected UAT project outcomes to Risk Management stakeholders
  • Direct and advise team members on deep dives into market risk data components such as VaR / Stress VaR / IRC
  • Provide regular project status updates for active projects to stakeholders in the DARC, Global Market Risk, Market Risk Analytics, QRS, front office risk technology and market risk technology teams
  • Conduct and moderate project status meetings to discuss progress within the team
  • Ensure that approvals for requirements documents, test plans and the format of expected test results from the Risk Management and other stakeholders are obtained prior to the initiation of any UAT project
  • Maintain risks and issues lists for projects and follow up on open items through resolution
  • Review internal processes and tools with an eye toward continuous improvements in their efficiency and the overall team’s effectiveness

Qualifications:

  • Broad knowledge of financial products and understanding of the performance and data attributes of key asset classes
  • IT / Excel / Access / Oracle / SQL / VBA (Product modelling / quant skills optional).
  • 5+ years in Risk/Technology/Banking role
  • Understanding of Market Risk measures: sensitivities, VaR, Stress Testing
  • Solid grounding in bank regulations as they impact market risk management, including Basel, Dodd-Frank, Volcker, 165d, etc
  • Ability to negotiate project schedules and timelines with client and partner teams
  • Sound judgement and decision-making skills
  • Ability to interact with senior managers across Risk Management, Risk Technology and Front Office teams
  • Strong Project Management skills

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
