Overview:

The Healthcare Operations team at HSS is seeking a Data Analyst capable of providing analytical expertise and knowledge on all aspects of data as it relates to our services offered. This position delivers ad-hoc reporting, data visualization with Power BI, data configuration, advanced excel and storytelling. The ideal candidate will have the mindset that ‘Data is King'. Knowledge of how data sets are standardized, configured, and integrated is key to success in this role, as are strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.

Responsibilities:


  • Consults with internal customers to provide analytics and reporting responsive to their needs.
  • Bring deep knowledge of analytics and strong business acumen – ability to present project deliverables to key stakeholders and executive team.
  • Performs data collection, validation, and transformation from internal and external sources.
  • Conducts various data analyses including statistical analysis to create reports and visualizations, weekly monthly and quarterly cadence.
  • Responds to the requests of ad hoc reports and dashboards from internal customers.
  • Develops macros and other approaches for end users to automate complex or ongoing reporting.
  • Assists internal customers by recommending and utilizing the most appropriate visualization models in presentation of data.
  • Updates existing statistical analysis tools with new yearly data.
  • Supports new SAAS database implementation in data flow and transfer.
  • Creates, implements, and maintains quality assurance processes to ensure that the expected quality of data is maintained.
  • Helps to maintain existing data flow interfaces between systems and create new as needed.
  • Works effectively in a team environment with management, colleagues, internal and external clients, developers, other analysts, and consultants.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintains the methodology to accurately map data across HSS healthcare systems.
  • Maintains mapping of data across systems as necessary to meet ongoing or project-specific needs.
  • Creates comprehensive data mapping and data flow diagrams as needed for specific projects.
  • Responsible for data migration activities as needed based on system replacements.
  • Collaborates closely with Information Technology department, particularly Systems Administration, to ensure that the following system administration activities are completed accurately and consistent with HSS protocols and conventions:
    • Data uploads and extracts
    • New data field creation
  • Responsible for data migration activities as needed based on system replacements.
  • Provide expertise and knowledge in how reporting and analysis operates. Understand the reporting landscape and optimize functional delivery standards.
  • Ability to meet HSS’s driving requirements and maintain a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business, or related field and 3+ years data analytics experience involving storytelling, applications, and database.
  • 2+ years of experience in systems such as Power BI, Tableau, Google Dashboards and R.
  • 1+ years project leadership and/or project management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; able to juggle multiple projects while delivering work on time and of high quality.
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels within the organization and deliver world class customer service.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • S. citizenship is required to obtain and maintain security access at certain client locations.
  • Able to meet HSS’s driving requirements and maintain a valid driver’s license.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a full-time position. Work hours will vary depending on project deadlines and the needs of the company. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Environment may be fast paced and stressful. Approximately <5% local and domestic overnight travel is required and may include one or more of the following: Day and/or Overnight, by plane and/or car.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will spend approximately 75% of the time sitting and will walk or sit 25% of the time; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally the employee will stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Frequently engages in mental concentration, analysis, and formulation. Able to drive a vehicle.

Compensation:
$70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
