Job description
The Clinical Data Abstractor is a high-performing individual who is responsible for detailed medical record review and abstraction of clinical data required for quality measures reporting and/or departmental registries. The Clinical Data Abstractor supports the patient safety and quality improvement efforts through accurate reporting of compliance to defined metrics and collaborates with departmental team members to facilitate improved patient outcomes, the ability to transform data for the purpose of solving problems and giving direction to teams focused on innovation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education & Experiences:
- Bachelor's degree preferred. May substitute work experience for degree. Business, healthcare related.
- Clinical experience highly desired.
- Experience with NCDR Registries preferred.
Certification/Licensure:
- N/A
Knowledge & Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Technical writing, quantitative analysis and/or use of statistical principles.
- Computer literate. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Medical records, data analysis, and business processes.
- Medical knowledge helpful. Negotiation and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrates a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
