MITRE's Resilient Weapon Systems Department is seeking a Defensive Cyber Operations Lead to work directly with the Sentinel PMO to provide thought leadership, technical expertise, and support to the most critical challenges our sponsor and missions face. Technical responsibilities include expertise and guidance using state of the art capabilities, tools, and methods to enhance Sentinel’s defensive posture to thwart advanced adversarial attacks. Our main sponsors possess the policy, warfighting, organizational, and program responsibilities within the Air Force Nuclear Enterprise.


In this role, the DCO Lead will:

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a trusted customer relationship with the Sentinel Cyber Defense Government Leads through daily interactions
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to the Sentinel Cyber Defense Gov’t Leads
  • Possess strong leadership skills to advise, influence, and lead cyber operations and development teams
  • Well versed on DCO ELK Stack scripting, Apache web server, threat casting, threat hunting, behavioral analyses.
  • Work directly with the DCO Systems Architect to integrate new tools as appropriate and maintain current functionality of the system.
  • Contribute to technical products that enable data-driven decisions and result in impactful mission outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related experience or equivalent relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  • Five to seven years’ experience in DoD Cyber Operations
  • A current Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret clearance
  • Well-rounded professional experience will include information warfare, advanced cyber threats, adversary methodologies, and cyber threat intelligence analysis.
  • Excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in collaborative and dynamic environments in areas that provide enhanced capabilities to MITRE’s sponsors and that result in significant operational benefit to the Nation

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Documented successes in detecting/preventing malicious cyber activities
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
