Job Summary

Cleaning of restrooms. Trash collection and take to on site dumpster. Sweeping and mopping hard surface flooring. Vacuuming carpets.

Rate of Pay: $15.00 per hour plus $4.23 Health and Welfare

Schedule: Monday - Friday 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm

Work Location: Norris Cotton Federal Building Manchester, NH

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs general, routine custodial duties, to include dusting, cleaning and wiping glass, mopping, vacuuming front entry rugs, cleaning restrooms, and restocking paper and soap supplies.
  • Performs routine maintenance to custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Empties trash receptacles, disposes trash into compactors and/or dumpsters, and bags trash for proper disposal.
  • Unlocks doors, ensuring doors are locked after cleaning areas.
  • Reports needs and concerns to Project Manager, which may include checking supply levels.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices

Minimum Job Requirements

  • Less than high school; no previous experience required.
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Ability to understand verbal instructions.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to operate vacuums and other related equipment.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communications.

Conditions of Employment

  • Must meet program eligibility requirements
  • Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.

Must pass a government background so to acquire naval access badge

Education

Preferred
  • High School Diploma/GED or better
