AMI Industries in Sault Ste Marie is looking for a full-time Custodian. Hours are Monday - Friday from 6:00am - 2:00pm. This position starts out at $14.00 / hr and goes to $14.75 after 90 days. Benefit package is offered to full time employees after completion of 90-day introductory period which include medical, dental, vision, life, disability insurance and 401k with matching, along with paid holidays, paid vacations and paid sick days.

Primary Purpose of the Job: Cleans and keeps office premises and working areas and washroom in an orderly fashion.

Specific Duties:

• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, vacuums, and polishes floors.
• Removes trash, and other refuse and deposits in appropriate containers.
• Dusts equipment, furniture and fixtures.
• Polishes surfaces, fixtures and trimmings.
• Provides supplies and minor maintenance services.
• Cleans lavatories, showers, dressing room areas, and rest rooms.
• Operates equipment such as vacuum cleaners, polishers, floor scrubbers, power scrubber-vacuums, and trash compactors and/or shredders.
• Containment of all oily rags and chemicals in proper storage receptacles for hazardous material pickup.
• Dispose of all recyclable material (i.e. plastic bottles, paper, batteries and toner cartridges) to local recycling stations.
• Ensure all chemicals used in cleaning are properly stored and labeled throughout facility.
• Must carry out duties per IATF 16949, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001

Required Training, Knowledge and Experience:

• Some electromechanical skills and physical coordination; and language, communications, and math skills of a level typically evidenced by an HS diploma.

Critical Physical Demands and Working Conditions:

• Occasionally lifts up to 70 pounds and frequently carries up to 40 pounds.
• Maneuvers in, around, and about factory and/or laboratory equipment and machinery on a regular and continuous basis.
• Majority of work time is spent standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, and bending.
• Climbs ladders and stairs regularly.
• Works within an engine components manufacturing, office and laboratory setting and is exposed to heat, cold, wet, and fumes/chemicals.
