Creative Lead, Copy In this role you are critical in ensuring the success of Lucid and the Creative Lead for Copy. You are responsible for leading Lucid’s creative messaging from concept to completion and are responsible for the overall quality of work produced by the team. You must be motivated and possess excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to maximize the talents of your creative team. You are a true team player working cross-functionally within the various teams and departments at Lucid. The Creative Lead of Copy has a unique perspective and a creative sensibility able to translate across content types, formats, and platforms.
This person understands what type of messaging conveys the Lucid brand and is appropriate for not only the content but for the platform as well. The Creative Lead of Copy has proven storytelling abilities and creates world-class campaign messaging that delivers against the Lucid standards, and drives engagement across any platform: print, digital, video, and social. You must be a highly organized, flexible yet courageous writer with the ability to generate ideas for short-form and long-form instances. You’ll support the production of creative proposals, drafts, and decks to kickstart new campaigns and work to ensure all work is conceptually aligned with campaign objects. You expertly combine creative writing and critical thinking with an analytical approach waterproofing ideas and establishing best practices to make sure tight deadlines are always hit.
In a highly collaborative role, the Creative lead of Copy interacts with a variety of people day-to-day and needs to be versatile, outgoing, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment guiding creative direction and team development. You are to use your expertise and guidance to make sure the creative copy team works together like a well-oiled machine, consistently hitting the brief and pushing video creative, meeting deadlines, and creating world-class content.
The Role:
- Oversee the creative copy process from concept to completion.
- Review and approve campaign work, troubleshoot, and provide feedback to creative teams.
- Own and lead brand messaging/naming standards.
- Review all incoming campaign requests and concepts.
- Lead and direct the creative copy team.
- Pitch concepts and proposals aligned with the brief, timeline, and budget.
- Oversee briefs, pitches, and proposals.
- Execute and direct relevant video shoot script writing.
- Be directly involved in hiring and training creative staff.
- Manage and cultivate the career development of the creative department.
- Collaborate and partner closely with producers/project managers, creatives, and the finishing team from ideation through to final master delivery.
- Be immersed in our company values and passions, instilling the integrity of the brand in the look, and feel in the execution of all video content.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Create world-class messaging content with your exceptional storytelling abilities and execute daily needs in a timely fashion.
- Collaborate with the Brand Director to continually evolve brand messaging identity and guidelines.
- Solicit, review, and incorporate feedback from the team as works best.
- Work with Producers to align on forecasting hours week over week
- Ensure that all artists are recorded in Harvest for assigned projects.
- Receive feedback bi-annually through reviews (informal mid-year review) and the formal end-of-year review
Qualifications
- 8+ years of full-time experience working in creative agency environments leading a team of high-functioning creatives
- Skilled in managing a high volume of creative and content
- Passion for mission-driven brands
- Portfolio of proven brand-defining campaign concepts
- Versed in all aspects of creative campaign production
- Act as a champion of Lucid brand standards in all aspects of creative work
Salary Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education, and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
- California (Bay Area) - $131,000 -$187,000 per year
Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs. (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
