The Cost Accountant position is a direct-hire position working for a specialty chemical client in the Vidalia, LA / Natchez, MS area. The Cost Accountant will work M-TH from 7:00-5:30.

Cost Accounting:
- Manage and prepare annual operating and project cost budgets and forecasts
- Management and preparation of monthly financial and project capital cost reports and associated commentary
- Preparation of cost estimates for project contracts and work packages
- Provide recommendations to the Chief Operating Officer to control costs
- Review and approve third party invoices in line with the contract terms and conditions
Finance:
- Cost Accountant will prepare, supervise and review the delivery of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and perform analysis of accounting transactions
- Manage the required ongoing payments for sales tax and insurance providers including property insurance, worker’s compensation, and the various insurance plans offered
COST ACCOUNTANT REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Engineering (project management qualification will be an advantage)
- 3+ years’ experience in Cost Control/Business Analysis/Management Accountant role in a project, construction or industrial environment
- Experience in using Pronto, SAP or similar ERP system
- Sound computer proficiency and experience across Microsoft Office Suite
- Cost Accountant candidates should be located in the Vidalia/Natchez area or be willing to relocate.

- Cost Accountant will work with Project Managers to close out contracts and determine final claims and advising project manager of surplus / deficit that can be reallocated to other projects
Finance:
- Cost Accountant will prepare, supervise and review the delivery of month-end balance sheet reconciliations and perform analysis of accounting transactions
- Manage all finance related regulatory reporting requirements
- Manage the required ongoing payments for sales tax and insurance providers including property insurance, worker’s compensation, and the various insurance plans offered
- Collect and report the data required to secure and maintain business incentives
- Design and implement financial reporting and transactional accounting business processes and procedures around the core operating system (Pronto)
- Prepare operating budgets for the operating phase, post development phase as well as monthly ledger reconciliations and month-end reports
- Facilitate progressive implementation of ERP system
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Engineering (project management qualification will be an advantage)
- 3+ years’ experience in Cost Control/Business Analysis/Management Accountant role in a project, construction or industrial environment
- Experience in using Pronto, SAP or similar ERP system
