The Role
Develops long-range objectives and strategic plans for the corporation or division. Identifies internal and external strategic issues that could affect growth and profitability. Scans environment for business opportunities, maintains surveillance over market, and may perform financial analysis of acquisition candidates. Develops and monitors profitability, productivity, and growth targets. May prepare acquisition proposals, recommend financial and nonfinancial strategic objectives and alternatives, and implement and maintain strategic and operational plans. Plans and coordinates business reviews, resource allocations, organization structures, and financial analysis.
Position is based in the Washington, DC metro area
JOB SCOPE
- Drive enterprise strategy process
- Craft annual strategic plan
- Run quarterly strategic reviews
- Develop insights into markets, customers and disruptions
- Gather competitive intelligence & sources of advantages
- Consult with / support the divisions on discrete questions
- Drive M&A process (w/ Finance)
- Develop partnerships and strategic agreements
- Manage network of VC funds to support CTO tech scouting
- Manage network of private equity sponsors for supply chain support
Must Have
Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (or the equivalent in education, training and experience) and 10 years of applicable, progressive professional and/or supervisory work experience
OR
Master's degree and 8 years relevant experience
Nice to Have

Master of Business Administration or equivalent

10+ years of relevant work experience (e.g., defense industry)

Former management consulting or investment banking experience
